Motivation: To understand how such a complex plant, and its many bioactive components, act pharmacologically and modulate so many aspects of mammalian cell, tissue, organ and organism physiology and pathology.
Proud moment: When I was awarded the Mechoulam Award from the International Cannabinoid Research Society, from the hands of my research hero, Raphael Mechoulam.
Nominator comment: “Amongst his many awards, he received the ICRS Mechoulam Award for his outstanding contributions to cannabinoid research, the Ester Fride Award for Basic Science from the International Association for Cannabinoid Medicines, and the Guido Dorso prize.”
