Biggest challenge?
Cannabis science needs peer-reviewed literature about what the plant synthesizes versus what people can synthesize, and to understand that this plant is like all other plants that people have explored and studied for centuries. It is not the only one with medicinal value, nor is it the only one we should concentrate on for pharmacognosy.
Importantly, the regulations need to be as strict as other plants. The level of compounds that can potentially impair our judgment needs to be addressed, not justified or ignored as the reality. Currently, regulations do not allow universities to properly study cannabis science. This damages the ability of scientists to bring facts rather than fiction to the industry.
